developing emerging talent in eating disorder researchers

A key focus of mainstream has been the creation of structures and supports to grow and develop new research talent with linkages to frontline health services, to genuinely build a research workforce that is passionate, experienced, and innovative.


mainstream to date has employed 6 post-graduate researchers, supported various higher degree research students (PhD, Masters of Psychology, Masters of Biostatistics, Medical student projects and Honours projects) and created employment opportunities for research staff with emerging specialties in eating disoders, community research, co-design process, translation and implementation research. mainstream is committed to developing the next generation of researchers and has developed the following networks and programs to support their ongoing work:

·       Data visualisation Special Interest Group

·       Social media research recruitment processes


We believe in knowledge and experience sharing, as well as meaningful mentorship and guidance to all who are interested in pursuing a path in research. Research is an ongoing and life-long process of learning and our members are passionate about mental health and eating disorder research, interested in developing their career and enhancing their leadership, mentorship, grant writing skills.
